The 2020 Wishing Tree program is now accepting applications from families meeting income and residency requirements who want help in providing for their kids this holiday season.
The Wishing Tree program is possible due to the combined volunteer efforts of the CC Communications Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association, Churchill County Social Services and community members wanting to lend a helping hand.
Applications can be picked-up in person from the Social Services Office, 485 West B Street, Suite 105 in Fallon during normal business hours. Please ring the bell on the counter and someone will be out to help you.
Applications are due back to the Social Services Office no later than Tuesday, October 20 at 5 p.m. Late applications cannot be accepted.
Wishing trees will be placed in various locations around the community closer to the holidays. Those wanting to help should pull a child’s “ornament” from the tree for basic information like age, gender and clothing size to aid in their shopping.
More details will be posted as they are finalized in the coming months.
