Obituary - Vicky Lynne Charley
Vicky Charley

Vicky Lynne Charley, age 77, beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and The Best Cat Mom passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Vicky was born on November 3, 1946, in American Fork, Utah to Lagrand & Donna Coomer at American Fork Hospital and is preceded in death by her parents, sister, and son Gary.

Vicky met the love of her life Dennis Charley in 1974 and they married in 1976. On February 21, 2024, they celebrated their 48th Anniversary.

Vicky and Dennis raised each other’s children. They loved to be outdoors camping and drag racing. Later in life, they dedicated their time to running the family’s ranch in Reno, NV.

Family was incredibly special to Vicky, and her greatest love was cats. Whether she was fostering or rescuing them, she always had several cats to care for. Atty Cat (short for attitude) the one she bottle-fed will greatly miss her.

Her dear husband, Dennis Charley retired to care for her and they call Fallon, Nevada their home. Family vacations to Disneyworld several times, San Diego, Yosemite, and Ely are memories that will be forever cherished. Vicky will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.

Husband Dennis Charley. Children William Thompson, Tina Goodfellow, and Melissa Vazquez (Hector). Grandchildren Christina Solis (Toray), Stephany Thompson (Andrew), and Ian Vazquez (Kaylee). Great-grandchildren Amelia, Cecilia, and soon-to-be Alejandra, as well as her many cats and her last special one Atty, and her great friends Maureen and Barbara.

We will gather at the gravesite at the Churchill County Cemetery, 500 Rio Vista Road Fallon, NV 89406 on Saturday, May 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Arrangements are being conducted by Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Drive Fallon, NV 89406.

Please join us directly after services to share memories at the home of Dennis & Vicky Charley, 3950 Schindler Rd. Fallon, NV 89406.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
