Tom Young — Nevada's Giant Ichthyosaur

Tom Young — Nevada's Giant Ichthyosaur Tom Young will share the story of the Nevada expedition that uncovered Cymbospondylus youngorum, the earliest known animal to reach giant size. The marine reptile lived about 246 million years ago and is estimated to have measured more than 55 feet long. Young, a geologist and co-founder of Great Basin Brewing Co., helped support the excavation of the fossil from Nevada's Augusta Mountains. The species was later named in honor of Tom and Bonda Young. Fallon Theatre’s 10th Annual Show-N-Shine The Fallon Theatre’s 10th annual Show-N-Shine will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, on Maine Street in downtown Fallon. The free public event will feature classic and custom vehicles, food, music and open downtown businesses. A new Best of Show perpetual trophy will be introduced.
