by Carol Lloyd -- Determined to prove his worth, a half-Paiute, half-Irish ranch hand from Tonopah who was abandoned by his parents, leaves his aging guardians to become a champion boxer before matches organized in Mexico and Las Vegas lead to his realization that he cannot change his identity or outrun his destiny. Vlautin’s writings and descriptions of Nevada are beautiful. Willy Vlautin will be at the Churchill Arts Council to read and discuss his book on Saturday March 23 from 5:00-7:00pm. The reading begins at 5:30pm. The Churchill Arts Council is located at 151 East Park Street, Fallon NV. This event is sponsored in part by the Churchill Library Association.
