Churchill County Work-Based Learning Helps Students with Career Readiness Courtesy CEDA Work-based Learning partners Sara Beebe with CEDA, Dr. Summer Stephes Superintendent ChurchillCSD, and Rochelle Tisdale Chief Academic Officer of Oasis Academy.

Churchill County High School is excited to be partnering with the CEDA Business Council and Oasis Academy for Building Fallon Forward: Churchill County Work-Based Learning. CCHS students now can work for local companies in a career pathway of their interest while earning credit toward their high school diploma. Pathways and employment opportunities cover a vast spectrum of topics, including health careers, business, welding, automotive, and more. Both paid and unpaid positions are available for students.

You can earn WBL-CVE credit this fall semester by working in an area you have trained in by working 60 hours during the semester, demonstrating great workplace readiness and career path skills.

Students who are currently employed are also eligible to take part in the program and receive CVE credit as well.

To learn more about this opportunity to gain valuable industry experience while earning high school credit, contact your counselor at the high school, CCSD Superintendent Dr. Summer Stephens ([email protected] or 775-460-6053) or talk to one of the high school principals. The application is a simple process in the NV Career Explorer platform and the school will help match you up with employers and will be open soon.

The program also helps businesses find eager, ready-to-learn employees interested in their field of business and Building Fallon Forward. Any business looking for employees that want to be part of this program may register here or contact Sara Beebe with CEDA at [email protected] with any questions.
