Remembering the Reason for the Season at Logos Christian Academy

Remembering the Reason for the Season at Logos Christian Academy
Logos students at the Angel Breakfast, dressed in their Sunday best.

This week at Logos Christian Academy (LCA), we joyfully celebrated the Advent season with a special focus on love, symbolized by this week’s Advent candle. Reflecting on 1 John 4:10, we were reminded of God’s incredible love: “This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”

LCA had lots of Christmas activities take place this week. On Wednesday students and families came together for Christmas caroling, riding a float through downtown. Their joyful songs spread cheer to the community and continued at two local assisted living facilities, Homestead and Highland Village, where they brought smiles to residents. The day concluded with cookies and hot chocolate, provided by UPLIFT.

Throughout the week, classes made gingerbread houses and Christmas crafts. The creativity and festive spirit were evident as students worked together on these projects. A highlight of the week was a reenactment of the Christmas story of Mary and Joseph, where there was no room in the inn. This performance brought to life the Christmas story for many students.

The week’s festivities concluded with the cherished tradition of the Angel Breakfast. Children, dressed in their Sunday best, enjoyed a lovingly prepared breakfast. The highlight of the morning was a special book reading of The Legend of the Candy Cane by Connie Heath. Each child received a candy cane—a touching symbol of the true meaning of Christmas and the love of Jesus Christ.

LCA feels deeply blessed during this Christmas season. Surrounded by love, joy, and faith, we are grateful to share this spirit with our community. From all of us at LCA, we wish you a very Merry Christmas filled with love and peace!

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
