Churchill County mourns the loss of a valued leader with the sudden and unexpected passing of Jorge Guerrero, Director of Community Activities, on August 13.
Guerrero, 52, had been with Churchill County for 25 years, serving as Recreation Supervisor before becoming the director of the Parks & Recreation department in 2006.
“Jorge was a friend whose leadership in and out of the office helped make our community the true oasis of Nevada. Jorge gave this community his heart and soul, coaching football, mentoring new staff, and improving our fields and facilities each and every year., said Joe Sanford, Churchill County manager. “His loss will be deeply felt, not only by those of us who work for the county, but all of the citizens he touched.”
Churchill County extends our deepest sympathies to his family and friends as we all mourn the loss of a great man.
