North Central Narcotics Task Force Seizes 525 Grams of Meth in Fallon

Jojeana Marie Speakman was arrested Feb. 5, 2026, by the North Central Narcotic Task Force on multiple drug charges, including high-level trafficking of more than 400 grams of a Schedule I controlled substance. Seizure

The task force released information on Thursday, March 19, stating it had investigated Speakman from December 2025 through early 2026. Investigators said she was suspected of distributing methamphetamine within the Fallon community.

NCNTF is a multi-agency task force comprised of personnel from the Nevada State Police Investigation Division, the Fallon Police Department, and the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office. The task force and its partner agencies said they remain committed to disrupting illegal narcotics trafficking and protecting the communities of Churchill County and surrounding areas.

On Feb. 5, 2026, the investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Speakman’s home within Fallon city limits. While the warrant was obtained by NCNTF, officials said the operation was carried out with assistance from the Fallon Police Department and the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search, K9 Jiggs and handler Deputy Leary located hidden narcotics. Investigators recovered more than one pound of methamphetamine, along with other narcotics, including psilocybin mushrooms and ketamine.

According to the criminal complaint filed in New River Township Justice Court by the Churchill County District Attorney’s Office, Speakman faces multiple charges, including:

Count 1: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, a Category A felony punishable by 25 years to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years. The complaint alleges that on Feb. 5, Speakman knowingly and intentionally possessed 525 grams of methamphetamine. Other court documents indicate possible possession of flunitrazepam or GHB, though that is not listed in the complaint.

Count 2: Possession of a Controlled Substance, third or subsequent offense, a Category D felony punishable by 1 – 4 years in prison. The complaint alleges that on Feb. 5, 2026, Speakman possessed 11.9 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, having previously been convicted on drug-related charges in California in 2003 and in 2018.

Count 3: Possession of a Controlled Substance, third or subsequent offense. The state alleges the same offense occurred as Count 2 on Feb. 6, 2026.

Counts 4–8: Misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, each punishable by up to 364 days in the Churchill County Jail. The state alleges that on Feb. 5, Speakman possessed:

Gabapentin – Non-narcotic nerve pain medication also known as Neurontin, is used for seizures and is sometimes associated with increased effects of other drugs.

Promethazine – Used for allergies, motion sickness, and insomnia, can cause drowsiness and cognitive impairment.

Cephalexin – Cephalosporin antibiotic

Baclofen - Muscle relaxant that affects nerve transmission in the spinal cord

Lorazepam – Benzodiazepine that acts as a central nervous system depressant

Counts 9–11: Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, including a scale, hypodermic needles, and baggies or containers.

On Feb. 6, Speakman was arraigned before Judge Benjamin Trotter on the charges. The court found her eligible for a public defender and assigned attorney Hampton Young. Bail was set at $115,780.

Young asked the court to release Speakman on her own recognizance. The state opposed, noting that trafficking charges constitute a Category A felony carrying a potential sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

Judge Trotter granted release on the condition of Court Services supervision, including daily drug testing and check-ins. Additional conditions included no contact with children, no children in the home, no use of alcohol or drugs, including marijuana, and no new criminal violations.

On March 16, the Justice Court received notice that Speakman had violated the conditions of her release. She was subsequently arrested by the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and returned to custody.
