Obituary - Ruth Eleanor Plumbridge

On the morning of June 30, 2025 Ruth Eleanor Plumbridge, 95, died at home in Fallon, NV. Known as Ellie to her friends and Grandma Ellie to six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, she lived her life on her own terms.

Born in Sterling, CO, to Norman Bernard Campbell and Ila Viola Jackson, Ellie’s early years were shaped by the Great Depression, which led the family to relocate to Marin City and later San Rafael, CA. She graduated from Tamalpais Union High School and went on to attend secretarial school.

On July 11, 1950, she married Jack Plumbridge in Reno, NV. They settled in Woodacre, CA, where they welcomed three children: Alan C. Plumbridge of Paradise, UT; Kay Inglis of Fallon, NV; and Julie Eva Landolf of Beaverton, OR, who passed in 2019.

In the early 1960s, the family moved to Tahoe City, where Ellie worked for Homewood Investments and John Deeter Construction. She enjoyed snow skiing and horseback riding in the Sierras. Jack and Ellie moved to Nevada in 1974, where she continued her love of horses and often traveled the world in search of her next great adventure. After settling in Fallon, Ellie worked for Gary Snow Livestock until her retirement.

In her later years, she found joy in day trips to places of historical interest, wildlife viewing areas, scenic drives, and art exhibits that caught her eye.

The family will hold a private service.

Due to the trials of advanced age on the body and mind, Ellie often reminded herself each morning: You only live once, but if you do it right, it’s enough. And she did live well.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
