Next Vaccination Date for Residents 70+ is Jan. 28

Beginning at 1 p.m. until allotment of 350 vaccines are gone
Next Vaccination Date for Residents 70+ is Jan. 28
The first vaccination day held at the Churchill County fairgrounds was last week

Churchill County will continue administering COVID vaccines to residents aged 70+, as well as anyone from the Nevada Department of Corrections, law enforcement/public safety and education and child care employees in the county on Jan. 28 starting at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds until the allotment of 350 vaccines is gone.

Employees must provide proof of employment such as a paystub or employer-issued identification.

Everyone showing up for a vaccine is encouraged to print, fill out and bring with them the “COVID-19 questionnaire” and “Pre-Vaccination Checklist” forms found on the county website.

Vaccines will be administered to on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Please arrive from Miners Road off Highway 95 south. Do not attempt to enter the fairgrounds via Sheckler. Anyone blocking a state highway (including Sheckler) will be cited by law enforcement.

Medicaid recipients who need a ride to the fairgrounds for the vaccine should contact Medicaid for an expedited request. Medicaid is waiving the five-day ride request requirement for those seeking vaccines.

Churchill County is also partnering with Banner Churchill to administer vaccines to those who fall within the categories listed above. If you prefer scheduling an appointment or can’t make the Jan. 28 date at the fairgrounds, please contact Banner Churchill Community Hospital Clinic weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. by calling (775)867-7740. Please note that Banner appointments are very limited and are being scheduled weeks out based on available allocation of vaccine.

As vaccines continue to roll out, we will work as efficiently as possible to administer these vaccines over the next few weeks. It is our hope that local pharmacies will be able to assist in the administration of the vaccine soon.

Additional vaccine dates and information on eligibility will be provided when available.

This is a reminder that we as citizens live in a representative form of government and why it is so important that we vote as voting is our way of making our voice heard. When we bought our land in Kingston, Sis regaled us with her stories of gatherings at the old restaurant & bar on the way to Groves lake. Sis often said, 'What happens in Kingston stays in Kingston!' Fun & funny lady. Comment publication date: 9/8/26, 5:58 PM Comment source: Marilyn J. “Sis” Banovich Comment author: Ruth Fiege Comment text: So sorry for the pain your family is suffering.
