Spring Blooms; Annual Home and Garden Show

Spring Blooms; Annual Home and Garden Show

The Soroptimist International of Fallon is welcoming spring in style with the 24th Annual Home & Garden Show, happening this weekend, April 12–13, at the Fallon Convention Center.

A longtime local favorite, the show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. With vendors lined wall-to-wall and something for just about everyone, it’s a great way to spend the weekend with family or friends.

Shoppers can expect home and garden décor, handmade jewelry, original photography, local produce and preserves, and plenty of arts and crafts. Outside, a spread of food trucks will be serving up local flavors, and there’s no shortage of treats to try between booths.

For the kids, free hands-on activities will keep them busy. At the same time, Saturday morning brings an extra dose of nostalgia with a vintage car show from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Admission is just a suggested $1 donation per adult — a small price for a big impact. Proceeds go toward Soroptimist scholarships and programs that support and empower women and girls in the Fallon community.

For vendor information, contact [email protected].

Bring the family, grab a bite, browse something beautiful — and help support a great cause while you’re at it.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
