Veritas – Classical and Christian Students Shine at Night Under the Stars

Veritas – Classical and Christian Students Shine at Night Under the Stars
Veritas student Madeleine LaValley.

Veritas Preparatory School hosted the second Night Under the Stars family event on March 7 at the Rafter 3C Arena. Families in attendance enjoyed carnival games, specialty drinks, desserts, and both live and silent auctions. Mendoza's and Brother's Indian food trucks also provided meals on-site.

The highlight of the night was the student performances. Twenty-seven talented Veritas students and several friends from other schools graced the stage with a wide range of acts. From piano playing and comedy routines to singing, dancing, and science demonstrations, the students impressed parents and guests with their preparation and skill. At Veritas, students learn to continually strive for excellence in all things to the glory of God. This attitude was on full display at Night Under the Stars.

In addition to the student performances, the winners of the recent Speech Meet presented their speeches to the audience. Students from kindergarten, first, second, fourth, sixth, and eighth grades spoke on topics ranging from the nature of war to faking a sick day to get out of school. Eighth-grader Jonathan Oranebo delivered an original speech on "The Ethical Use of ChatGPT."

Veritas would like to extend its gratitude to the many donors who contributed to the event's success, with special thanks to Frey Ranch Distillery and the City of Fallon for their generous contributions. We also thank the many parent volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event possible. The night was a tremendous success and was a much-needed fundraiser supporting the school.
