Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Bayou Bites

Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Bayou Bites
Jeremy and Lyric Morrow

Bayou Bites celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, February 22. The father-daughter duo, Jeremy and Lyric Morrow, tested their cuisine at the Fallon Cantaloupe Festival last year. The festivalgoers received their food well, prompting the Morrows to take their idea to the next level and open their own local eatery.

Jeremy is a chef who has worked in Portland, Oregon, and high-end restaurants in the Los Angeles area. According to Jeremy, their menu items are all made daily from fresh ingredients. They take the time to hand-chop lettuce and even remove the white membranes and seeds from lemons for the best flavor added to the food.

Bayou Bites gravy is always homemade, and nothing is prepackaged. Their motto is good food fast, not fast food, and with great attention to detail.

Bayou Bites is open six days a week, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Stop by and see them at The Grid Market Place at 2030 Reno Highway in Fallon.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
