Annual Jim Regan Golf Tournament Results
The City of Fallon’s Team 2, consisting of Andy Dooley, Tristan Rodarte, Colin Shishido and Hayden Strasdin took first place in this year’s tournament.

Fallon, NV – For more than 20 years, Churchill County has hosted the Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament to raise funds for academic scholarships for dependents of county staff. Regan was a county commissioner who was heavily involved in the community and died in office in April 2000.

The 2024 tournament saw 48 golfers come out on September 21 for a day of golfing, raffles, food and fun at the Fallon Golf Course. After two rounds through the nine-hole course, the tournament results are:

1st Place – City of Fallon’s Team 2 of Andy Dooley, Tristan Rodarte, Colin Shishido and Hayden Strasdin 

2nd Place – Fallon Golf Course Team of Jamie Davis, Jim Privett, Andrew Palmer and Pakela Malama-Gomes

3rd Place – Churchill County Team of Motulalo Otuafi, Travor deBraga, Brooke Hill and Riley Horn

Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin – Trevor deBraga and Jamie Davis

The Jim Regan Memorial Tournament was conceived by former county Comptroller Alan Kalt and is today organized by Pam Moore in the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. 

The tournament was sponsored by Churchill County and the City of Fallon as platinum sponsors; along with The Depot Casino, Mackedon deBraga & Rowe, Tedford Tire & Auto Service, Banner Churchill Community Hospital, Western Nevada Supply, Councilwoman Karla Kent/Kent’s supply Company, Jeff’s Digitex Printing, Evie Regan, Scott & Patti Hiatt, and KVLV.

Raffle sponsors included Harmon Junction, Les Schwab Tire Center, Diana Paul, Oasis Academy, Evie Regan, Scott & Patti Hiatt, Tedford Tire & Auto Service, Terri Schultz, Atlantis Casino Resort, Vortex, Glenn Lee, Hiskett & Sons, Councilwoman Karla Kent/Kent’s Supply, City of Fallon, Banner Churchill Community Hospital and Churchill County.

Zachary Haase served as the DJ for the event.

A special thanks to the volunteers who helped execute every aspect of the day: Dawn East, Crystal Muschetto, Angela Viera, Gabiel Keener, Talon Johnson and Joshua Gusewelle.

The tournament has raised nearly $80,000 over the last two decades which has in turn been given out in scholarships to children of county employees each spring. This year scholarships were awarded to Emily Bird, Hailey Guerrero, Kasey Lattin, Levi Johnson, Weina Lu, Bryan Mendoza, Demi Tekelidis and Maci Cooper.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all.
