Obituary - Judith (Judy) Ann Walsh Aja

Obituary - Judith (Judy) Ann Walsh Aja

Judith (Judy) Ann Walsh Aja passed peacefully at home on September 20, 2024. She was born March 26, 1944, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Chuck and Dee Walsh. Her father worked in road construction in northern Nevada. Judy and her brother, Jerry, lived on many work sites and in different towns before settling in Fallon.

Judy and Bobby Fabel were together for 38 years and have been married for 13 years. She is survived by her husband, Bobby; her brother, Jerry Walsh (Carol); daughters, Teri (Al McElroy) and Jamie (Rudy Lara); and grandchildren, Drake and Cody McElroy, Colton and Cooper Lara, and Kristen Pyatt. She will be missed by Bobby's mother, Shirley; brother, Thane; and sisters, Christine Longfield, Lucille Fabel, Beverly Bahasa, Gloria Fabel, Irene Wyrick, and Laura Tomac. Five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews filled her life.

Judy was involved with the motocross racing scene in northern Nevada.  She started "Shirt Jazz," a trophy and t-shirt business, making custom racing jerseys for many riders from all over. Judy was proud to have opened a shop called "Dirt Jazz," the first KTM motorcycle dealership in Nevada. Judy was proud to have been a "Blue Coat" official with the AMA.

She was an "ornery" member of the Nevada Old Timers Club and promoted racing at all the tracks. Her sparkling blue eyes, welcoming smile, and personality greeted the racers at the sign-up trailer, answering questions, working on the race schedule, posting results, and chasing pit riders. People who met Judy were never strangers for long.  She had a knack for remembering the names, faces, and stories of all the riders.  Judy made sure they could race, even when entry money was tight.

There are no services scheduled at this time. A celebration of her life will be announced in the spring.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
