Fallon Les Schwab Tire Center and The Fallon Post are excited to team up again for the 2024 3rd Annual Benefit Car Show on Sunday, September 8.

All proceeds from the car show will be gifted to the non-profit Davey's Entertainment. Army veteran and business owner Davey Munoz plans to use the money raised for the Wreaths Across America program.

Wreaths Across America honors and remembers U.S. military veterans by placing wreaths on their graves during the holiday season. Over 1,300 wreaths are placed at the Fallon Cemetery each year, with 8,500 placed at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery (NNVMC) in Fernley,

As a four-time cancer survivor, Mr. Munoz’s nonprofit also hopes to bring Relay for Life back to Fallon. Relay for Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society that supports cancer research, patient support, and awareness programs.

After establishing Fallon as his home in 2013, Davey dedicated himself to being an essential part of the community. He is an Ambassador for the Fallon Chamber of Commerce, an active volunteer for Churchill County Search and Rescue, a race and event announcer, the MC for the Fallon Lions Club Labor Day Parade and the Fallon 4th of July Parade, the MC and DJ for the Cantaloupe Festival Car Show, and the MC for our Benefit Car Show.

With all of Davey's free time – which isn’t much, he enjoys bass fishing. Most of the time, he is busy serving Fallon and Churchill County.

Please show your support on Sunday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (check-in at 8 a.m.) at Fallon Les Schwab Tire Center, 2555 Reno Hwy, Fallon, Nevada.

Pre-registration is available at the Fallon Les Schwab location or by calling 775-423-7722. Same-day registration will be available until full. There will be no early online registration this year. Pay in person at the time of check-in.

This year’s contest categories include the Best Beard Contest at noon, breakfast burritos, burgers and hotdogs, goody bags for the kids. Stop in and say hello to – you guessed it, Davey Munoz, who will be announcing the event, and Churchill County Search and Rescue. The event also include free raffle drawings, corn hole, and lots of fun.

Spectator parking will be available nearby (follow the signs), and the main parking area will be reserved for cars entering the show.

Event entries include a Unicorn (most rare), Fiasco (Utter Disaster), Awesome American, Fabulous Foreign, Majestic Modern, Most Bleepable Backseat, Radical Rat Rod, Marvelous Motorcycle, Whipper Snapper (kids’ choice), OG (original stock), Shake Things Up (modified), Roar and Rumble (loudest), and Sexy Tractor.

Thank you to Camacho Auto Sales, Frey Ranch Distillery, Fallon Speedway, Ott’s Farm and Welding, Alley Bar, and Shawn Crystal, and Maverick Boney, for your continuing support, as well as Ken's Supply, Cranberry Cottage, and Toni Barbetti.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
