Obituary -- Gerald "Jerry" Lunceford Ivey
Gerald “Jerry” Ivey passed away peacefully on June 16, 2019 after a 4-year battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born in Haskell, Texas on August 31, 1935. He moved with his family to Long Beach, California at the age of seven. After high school, he served in the Army for wo years and later relocated to Reno, Nevada in 1969 where he met the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Laura Lee.  They relocated to Fallon, Nevada in 1972 where they raised their three children. Jerry worked in sales for the majority of his career until he retired in 2007. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor, love for his family and pets, his faith in God and dedication to his church. Jerry was a loyal lifetime member of the Masonic Guardian Lodge #53, F&AM. Throughout his life, Jerry was involved with various civic organizations and especially loved greeting people at church and volunteering for the Banner Hospital Auxiliary where he could meet and visit with many people. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Laura Lee; children Laura Smith (George), Clark Peri (Michelle), and Jane Petersen (Mark); three grandsons Josh, Ryan, and Adam Peri; Sisters Billie Dunn, and Patti Baehr. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marty Leaverton, and brother Richard “Cotton” Ivey. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 280 E. Stillwater Avenue, Fallon, Nevada. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home.
