Obituary - William Michael Silva (Bill)

Obituary - William Michael Silva (Bill)
William Michael Silva (Bill) passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 63. His wife, her family and his brother were by his side. Bill was born in Torrance, California on March 17, 1956 , to Anthony Silva and Lois Mae Jordan. His family moved from  Southern California to Fallon where his father had his hay hauling business. As a child, Bill was always the quiet and kind one, who always had a big smile for you. He loved animals. He joined 4-H, showed the calf that he raised and won first place. Although Bill may have been a quiet and private child, he grew into a fun-loving, happy man. Bill graduated from Churchill County High School in 1974. He loved being outdoors, was very artistic, and loved working with old furniture. He enjoyed cooking and was very good at it and he was always happy to host a BBQ. Bill worked as a superintendent for A&K Earthmovers most of his adult life, and retired from them at the age of 60. He married Virginia Ann Pendarvis (Pete) on September 3, 1994. She was the love of his life and they were married 24 years. They were always together, one rarely going anywhere without the other. They were each other’s best friend and he loved her more than anything. Besides his wife, Bill is survived by his son, William Michael Silva, Jr., his siblings, Anthony Silva, Jr.; Donna Marie Herbig; DeeDee Haynes; Richard Silva and RuthAnn Webster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be greatly missed. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 12:00 o'clock, noon at The Elk's Lodge, 93 W. Center, Street.     Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
