MFT Powwow celebrates Indigenous culture and community spirit in Fallon, Nevada. This annual event promises an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages and backgrounds, featuring two distinct events: Cultural Night and the Social Powwow.

Cultural Night is a Journey into Indigenous Existence & Wellness and will kick off the festivities on May 31 with an immersive exploration of Nevada's tribal heritage and traditions. Delve into the rich tapestry of Native culture through presentations, interactive workshops, and engaging speakers. Explore the bustling Indigenous Arts Market, where artisans showcase their wares and crafts passed through generations. Engage with tribal members and cultural experts who generously impart wisdom and knowledge.

The highlight of the evening begins at 7 p.m. with a free speaking engagement with “You’re Favorite Indian” Dancin’ Dougie Hall, Native pro bronc rider, entrepreneur, and inspirational speaker. Join us as Dougie shares his insights on wellness and community, offering a powerful message, “Don’t Worry About It.” Meet Dougie at our VIP Meet and Greet at the Twisted Branch on 111 S. Taylor St., June 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25/Adults and $5/Youth. Tickets are limited. Purchase yours today at FallonPowwow.com.

Celebrate the Social Powwow on June 1 and 2 with exhibitions, dance specials, and community games. Experience the energy of traditional dance and drum. Host drum, Ozuye, from Bismark, ND, will make their debut. Enjoy Emcee Tyson Shay from Fort Hall, ID, Co-Emcee Nizhoni Widehat from Reno, NV, Arena Director Hank Johnson from Reno, NV, and the Pyramid Lake Warriors and Veterans Color Guard. Experience guests the Crosswind Singers Elder Drum of Wyoming, Eagle Wings Pageant Dance Group of Reno, and special guest Iron Woman-Fancy Shawl 18+, Traditional Switch Dance, Potato Dance, Rabbit Dance, Sweetheart Dance, and ClownSwitch Dance. There will be contests and games, including Best Rez Car, NDN Car Pile-In, Stick Horse Relay, Open Mic, and Scavenger Hunts, to name a few.
Attendees will have access to a variety of amenities and resources, including Indigenous arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, community resources, and Indigenous initiatives, including voter registration, suicide prevention, mental health wellness, agriculture, and culture.

Whether you are seasoned on the powwow trail or attending for the first time, there's something for everyone at the Moving Forward Together Powwow. Join Us in Moving Forward Together.

Note: In the May 30 article of The Fallon Post, it was incorrectly noted that the MFT Powwow was held in partnership with the Churchill Community Coalition. The Powwow is now organized and produced independently.

From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
