Movies & More: "Cars", Smokey and the Bandit," and Constitution 101 Video Lecture Series

Greetings from the Fallon Theatre. First, we would like to thank the performers, those who came and supported our Heritage of the West celebration on Saturday, April 13. Visit our Facebook page to see pictures of the event.

We have two fabulous movies showing this Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20. For the kids, we will show another Disney classic at 6 p.m. with a $1.00 admission. “Cars” is about a hot-shot race car named Lightning McQueen who gets detoured in Radiator Springs, where he finds the true meaning of friendship and family.

Smokey and the Bandit, starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, and Jackie Gleason, will be playing for free on both nights at 7 p.m. It is a car chase comedy about The Bandit, who is hired to run a tractor-trailer full of beer over state lines and is hotly pursued by a pesky sheriff.

On Saturday, April 20, the Fallon Theatre will host Hillsdale College’s Constitution 101 video lecture series. This event is sponsored by the Churchill County Republican Women. Admission is $15 for adults, and students are free. The event runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Getto Subs.

On Friday, April 26, we will be showing “Encanto” for one night only at 6 p.m. This free movie is sponsored by Churchill County Special Services and Pinwheels for Prevention. The Fallon Theatre thanks our sponsors.

Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m., we will show “Tahoe Joe 2” featuring some local cast and crew. In this sequel to the 2022 film, “Tahoe Joe,” a popular social media influencer goes missing in the Tahoe National Forest. Filmmakers Michael Rock and Dillon Brown set out on a rescue mission but get more than they bargained for when returning to the famous hunting grounds of Tahoe Joe. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for children 12 and under, and active military.

The Fallon Theatre has something to offer everyone. For information, please visit our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/fallontheatre, or our website, www.fallontheatre.com. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
