On March 1, renowned astronaut Loren Shriver visited Logos Christian Academy, captivating students and staff alike with his tales of space exploration and inspiring words of encouragement. Shriver, a veteran of three Space Shuttle missions and a former NASA astronaut, visited the academy as part of its ongoing efforts to inspire students toward careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The event commenced with a warm welcome from the school administration, highlighting Shriver's visit's significance in igniting the young learners' imaginations. As Shriver took the stage, an air of anticipation filled the chapel. With a mix of humility and enthusiasm, he shared anecdotes from his time in space, recounting the challenges and triumphs of his missions aboard the Space Shuttle.

Students listened in rapt attention as Shriver described the awe-inspiring experience of witnessing the Earth from the vantage point of outer space. He spoke passionately about the importance of curiosity, perseverance, and teamwork in achieving one's dreams, encouraging the students to pursue their aspirations with dedication and resilience.

“I was once like you, growing up in a small farm town in rural Iowa, dreaming of reaching for the stars,” Shriver remarked, his words resonating with the aspiring young minds before him. “Remember, no dream is too big, and no challenge is insurmountable. With hard work and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”

Following his address, Shriver engaged in a lively question-and-answer session. He delighted the students with his insights into life in space and offered valuable advice on pursuing careers in aerospace and related fields. His visit left an indelible mark on the students, instilling a newfound sense of wonder and ambition.

Headmaster Jennifer Thomas expressed her gratitude to Shriver for his inspiring visit, emphasizing its profound impact on the school community. “Having someone of Loren Shriver's caliber share his experiences with our students is truly invaluable,” she remarked. “His visit has ignited a passion for exploration and discovery that will undoubtedly guide our students towards bright futures.”

As the event concluded, students lined up eagerly for the opportunity to meet Shriver personally, eager to shake hands with a true space exploration hero. For Logos Christian Academy, Shriver's visit served as a beacon of inspiration, reminding students that the sky is not the limit – it's just the beginning of their journey toward achieving their dreams.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
