After filing multiple continuances in New River Township Justice Court, where the case originated, Debra Jeane Lund finally appeared in the Tenth Judicial District Court on January 16, 2024, before Judge Thomas Stockard, facing embezzlement charges.

Never formally arrested, Lund was booked on a warrant after Churchill County District Attorney’s Office filed charges in Justice Court. The case was eventually waived up to District Court, where Lund was charged with Embezzlement of Value $5,000 or More But Less Than $15,000. The charge, a Category C Felony, is punishable by 1-5 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

The initial Criminal Complaint, filed in February of 2023, charged Lund with a Category B Felony of Embezzlement of Value $25,000 or More But Less Than $100,000 and alleged that between November 12, 2017, and July 31, 2022, Lund converted $50,199.49 in Cub Scout funds for her own use.

The Criminal Complaint against Lund, filed on November 17, 2023, states, “The Defendant, being the treasurer of the Cub Scouts, did convert funds for her own uses in the amount of $15,014.07.” Last Tuesday, accompanied by Reno Attorney Paul Wolfe, Esq., Lund pleaded guilty to the charge.
Judge Stockard ordered a Pre-Sentencing Investigation to set sentencing for April 9.

One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
