History Inspires New Children’s Musical

History Inspires New Children’s Musical

The Performing Arts of Churchill County (PACC) is delighted to present “Maine Street Gang, the Musical” at the Historic Fallon Theatre. When a group of local children discover an abandoned building downtown and transform it into their clubhouse, they begin to discover the history of the old building. Will their clubhouse be torn down to make way for a new mall? What can a group of kids do to preserve the history of their downtown community? When that group of kids is the Maine Street Gang, there’s no telling what can happen.

“Maine Street Gang” will be performed from Thursday, November 2, through Saturday, November 4. Shows begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a Saturday matinee at 1 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.paccnv.org. Tickets are $10 in advance, and $15 at the door if any seats are still available at performance time. The tickets are going fast and pre-purchase is recommended.

Written and directed by Tim Wuth, the story is a tribute to Fallon’s historic theatre and draws attention to both the Performing Arts of Churchill County and the Save the Fallon Theare nonprofit organizations. “Maine Street Gang” is sure to delight everyone who loves Fallon and its enriching history.
The show features a talented cast of 20 local children from Numa Elementary, CCMS, Oasis Academy, Veritas Co-op, Logos Christian Academy and Agape Church School. “Maine Street Gang” includes 12 songs, mostly upbeat dance numbers, that will have the audience dancing in their seats.

“We are very excited to present the “Maine Street Gang” musical to the Fallon community,” said Director Tim Wuth. “Our amazingly talented cast of 4th-8th grade students have been working hard since mid-September to bring you this musical story that has bits of community history and nostalgia.”

Many dedicated locals came together for this production, including Assistant Director Noreen Swenson, Vocal Directors David Ernst and Sarah Hurley, Acting Coach Ashley Adams, Producer Lori Souba, Choreographers Suzette Benecke, Amanda Soube, and Lindsey Irving, Costumer Kim Klenakis and Sound Director Carl Robertson.

PACC is a 501 c3 non-profit that sees the value performing arts brings to individuals and the Fallon, Churchill community, striving to educate and promote opportunity for all ages to participate in the performing arts. They are currently seeking financial sponsorship for their current slate of musicals, including “Maine Street Gang.” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and Gilligan’s Island” as well as the Churchill Kids Choir. Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
