Staff Report

Jeremy and Nate Heath returned from four days of racing in Indiana this week. There were over 500 entries for the event.

Nate ran two classes and was near the top in qualifying for the Heavy, but the pit crew (dad, Justin Heath) messed up the air pressure, and Nate qualified in the middle of the pack. Coming in at the 29th spot, Nate got into a couple of accidents and started the main event in 41st, finishing the weekend in 36th place. The Senior Medium class had about 100 entries, and in Sunday’s LCQ, he finished 11th, one spot out of the transfer spot to the main event. They took 60 karts to the main event.

Jeremy had bad luck all weekend, starting with a blown engine (dad didn’t put in enough oil), and was involved in a few accidents. He finally got the kart dialed in and finished 11th in LCQ, one spot out of the transfer spot to the main.

The weekend was a fantastic event, with about 13 karts flipping. The boys had a lot of fun over the weekend and learned a lot. Thanks to Cole Nelson Racing, Kelsey Nelson, and Invader Racing Engines for their assistance. The boys can’t wait until next year.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
