Obituary -- Donald C. Stigers

Obituary -- Donald C. Stigers
Don Stigers, retired business man, died unexpectedly on May 22nd at his home in Lockwood, Nevada. Don had been involved in business ventures most of his life.  After completing a hitch in the US Army he completed his studies to become an optician and eventually owned and operated a chain of optical dispensaries in the Santa Maria, CA area. After operating that business for several years he sold out and relocated to Reno and worked at his profession.  Later he and his wife established a chain of tanning salons.  After that venture Don became a business broker with the Liberty Group, LLC until his retirement. Don, at one time,  was quite active in Free and Accepted Masonry.  He began his masonic travels as a teenager in the Order of Demolay, eventually associated with F&AM Lodge #237 in Arroyo Grande, CA, Scottish Rite Lodge of Santa Barbara, CA,  and the Shriners Lodge of Los Angeles.  Don was also a longtime member of the Elks, the American Legion, and the National Rifle Association.  He held a private pilot’s license and, at one time, owned and piloted his own plane. He leaves his wife, Judi, two daughters, Christy in AZ, and Sherri in CA,  several grandchildren and great-grand children. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.   Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page. I was probably Don's first girlfriend dating back to grade school. So sorry to hear of his death but nice to know that he had a wonderful life.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
