Bret Walker Martyn pleaded guilty, pursuant to Alford, to the Category D Felony of Attempt to Commit Sexual Assault which carries a potential penalty of 2-20 years in Nevada State Prison. The charge is eligible for probation if Martyn gets a Psycho-Sexual Evaluation and is found to not be a high risk. The judge ordered a Pre-Sentence Investigative Report and set sentencing for October 17.

Mark Antonio Graham appeared for sentencing on the Category B Felony of Battery with a Deadly Weapon which he pled guilty to on March 28. Graham received a sentence of 48-120 months in Nevada State Prison, suspended, with 36 months probation. Along with the standard conditions of probation, Graham was ordered to obtain both a Substance Abuse Evaluation to follow the recommendations of both therein.  He was ordered to attend an anger management class, to have no contact with the victim, and to obtain full-time employment or develop an educational plan within the next 30 days. Fines and assessments were imposed.

Crystal Lynn Moore, in custody, appeared on a Court Services Violation. Court Services reported that the day after her last court appearance, Moore tested positive for alcohol and fled while waiting for law enforcement to arrive. Moore then failed to appear for two tests. The judge denied OR release, and bail remains $25,000 cash. Sentencing on the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Ex-Felon Not to Possess a Stun Device, which Moore pled guilty to in May, is August 15.

Kaleel Anthony Rickerson, in custody, appeared for sentencing on the Category D Felony of Fraudulent Use of a Credit of Debit Card, and the Category E Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance which he pled guilty to on May 2. Rickerson received suspended consecutive sentences of 16-48 months in Nevada State Prison on the Fraudulent Use charge, and 12-36 months on the Possession charge. The judge ordered 24 months’ probation on the fraudulent use charge and 18 months' probation on the possession charge. Along with standard conditions of probation, Rickerson was ordered to enter and complete the Western Regional Drug Court Program, obtain a Substance Abuse Evaluation, follow its recommendations, and obtain employment or develop an education plan within the next 30 days. The defendant will remain in custody until he starts the WRDC program. Fees and assessments were imposed.

Tyler James Rickards, in custody, pleaded guilty to the Gross Misdemeanor of Conspiracy to Commit Embezzlement. Rickards previously pled guilty to the Category D Felony of Driving While Under the Influence of an Intoxicating Liquor or a Controlled or Prohibited Substance, a Third or Subsequent Offense, and to the Misdemeanor charge of Tampering with or Driving Without a Device to Test a Person’s Breath for Alcohol. On the conspiracy charge, Rickards received 30 days in Churchill County Jail which was satisfied by credit given for time served; he was also ordered to pay restitution of $1,575 for the SCRAM device he cut off, and restitution of $5,225 for the cost of extradition from Hawaii. On the tampering charge, he received 68 days, which was satisfied by credit given for time served, and a $500 fine. The judge fined the defendant $2,000 and sentenced him to 19-72 months in Nevada State Prison on the DUI charge. Fees and Assessments were imposed on each charge.

The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge.
