Top Gun Dragstrip Benefit Concert at Oats Park - July 24 7 p.m.

Top Gun Dragstrip Benefit Concert at Oats Park - July 24 7 p.m.

As we have reported, Top Gun Dragstrip was hit by back-to-back record-breaking damaging weather events early in June and also sustained a collapsed water well, requiring a new one to be drilled.
These events have left the local racing organization financially devastated. Several racers and fans have come together to help out, and Top Gun is proud to announce a fellow racer from Sacramento has blessed the community with his talent and generosity.
James Garner has fit the Top Gun Community into his nationwide Tribute to Johnny Cash tour, not only to entertain our town, one he absolutely adores, but to help the track rebuild and will be performing at the Oats Park Art Center on Monday, July 24 at 7 p.m.
Advance tickets are $35 and will be $50 at the door with all proceeds benefiting the racetrack facilities.
For the past 16 years, Garner and his band have faithfully recreated Cash's biggest hits with stunning accuracy in this not-to-be-missed musical event. This world-class tribute to the "Man in Black" has been featured live in concert on PBS stations and has even performed at Folsom and San Quentin Prisons. This unique show is a fun, toe-tapping trip down memory lane honoring Johnny Cash's life and music, and the boom-chicka-boom sound of the Man in Black's longtime backing band, the Tennessee Three. Enjoy all the hits of the Man in Black all over again – “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Ring of Fire,” “I Walk the Line,” and more!
Garner and his band have performed more than 600 professional shows, including a special concert at Folsom State Prison in 2008 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cash’s infamous live album recorded behind prison walls. Gene Beley, one of two reporters in Cash’s entourage at the historic 1968 Folsom Prison concert, says this about Garner and his show:
"Garner and his band give concertgoers their money's worth," says Beley. "This act will not disappoint the people who wish to resurrect that classic Johnny Cash voice and rhythm."
Proceeds from this concert benefit Top Gun Raceway, which sustained severe damage to its racing facility from two major storm events.
Please join the Top Gun Dragstrip community for a night you’ll never forget and a show like you’ve not experienced before.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
