With students, staff, parents, and grandparents attending, along with a host of generous donors, Logos Christian Academy packed the house on April 29 for what turned out to be its most successful fundraising event since its inception in 2000.

Weaving a good measure of patriotism into the event, 6th grader Zoey Laugheed delivered an outstanding and heartfelt performance of Patrick Henry's famous speech, “Give me liberty, or give me death,” given at the 1775 Second Virginia Convention. While Henry's original words brought silence for several minutes after his speech ended, Zoey's passionately orated rendition drew a standing ovation.

Local merchants and business owners donated spectacular gift baskets, jewelry, guns, livestock supplies, wine, gourmet foods, stunning handmade items, hay, corals, getaways, and more. And much to the delight of virtually everyone, two Nigerian dwarf goats. Classroom teachers also worked with their students and a relentless corps of parent volunteers to acquire and assemble what proved to be a mass of highly coveted auction and raffle items. By the end of the evening, Logos had raised an impressive sum of $85,000, far exceeding the school's most fantastic expectations.

Logos was overwhelmed by the level of support, both from families and the community. The City of Fallon and 3C Catering donated meat and other items for the Prime Rib and Garlic Parmesan Chicken dinner, greatly helping the school cover event costs, and making tickets for the event affordable for families. With about 220 in attendance, that was no small contribution.

With much gratitude, Logos Christian Academy thanks: M Enterprises Auctioneer Services, 3Cs Catering-Hill & Cori Egger, Abe's Hay ‘N' Feed, Ace in the Hole Archery, A&K Earthmovers, Ambiance Salon & Boutique, Ana's Wreath Boutique, Animal Ark, Auto Glass & More, Banner Churchill Comm. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
