Wetlands and Wings Youth Outdoor Program

Looking for Volunteers
Wetlands and Wings Youth Outdoor Program
The Wetlands and Wings organization

Do you like to hunt waterfowl? Are you interested in helping kids who like to hunt waterfowl?

The Friends of Stillwater are looking for adult volunteers to assist with setting up outdoor workshops and waterfowl hunts for youth, for education, field hunting, mentoring, gun safety and other tasks.

The Wetlands and Wings Youth Outdoor Program began over a decade ago with the support of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Its goals are to provide safe, fun, and educational outdoor experiences for area youth ages 10-17. They offer twice-yearly outdoor workshops and hunts for waterfowl or upland birds. A primary goal is to reach kids who have never had the chance to get outdoors for this type of experience or who have limited family support to do so. The program is free to youth participants mainly due to the generous support of local, regional, and national groups, as well as businesses, organizations, and individuals.

Partnered with the Fallon Trap Club and the Lahontan Valley Claybreakers, the program provides a comprehensive gun safety class as part of the 2-day workshops and hunts.

In addition to hunting, the program provides career, environmental education,  and wildlife and habitat hands-on learning throughout the year for youth who have completed a workshop.

If you’re interested in helping the Wetlands and Wings Program, please contact Bill at (775) 666-5248 or Barry at (775) 427-4164.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
