A bike sale for the community -- find a need and fill it

Last Saturday, during a beautiful, summer morning, 12-year-old Remi Johnson took his passion for mechanical things, and began a bike sale for the community. Customers were filtering in and out throughout the day, trying out bikes for every shape and size.

Remi’s entrepreneurial work began when he found a few bikes thrown in the trash with very little wrong with them. Remi’s mother, Anne Johnson, put an advertisement on Fallon Swap requesting donations of old bikes that her son could use to work on. In a fantastic turn of events, and with some tender love and care, Remi received 50 bikes through donations from across the community. Remi took all of the donations into his shop and has fixed tires, chains, breaks, and paint on the entire squadron of used bikes.

Remi’s goal is to use his earnings from generous donations, earned by his hard work to buy a mountain bike for himself.

To achieve this goal, Remi plans to continue fixing the remaining bikes and have multiple sales -- including vintage bikes, tubeless tire bikes, and a "Frankenstein bike sale," where Remi would put the bikes together in front of customers with various parts to choose from.

Remi has been doing great business, and keeping himself busy during the longest summer for kids everywhere.

Anne said that the community turnout for donated bikes was amazing.  “This has been a great project for Remi and is something that he just loves to do,” she said. “It also gets him out of the house.”

Look for future bike sales by Remi Johnson on the Fallon Swap Page on Facebook. He is taking donation payments only and it is first come, first serve.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud.
