Obituary -- Marlene Rose Clark Holmes

On Saturday, April 11,2020 Marlene Holmes, Loving mother, grandmother and sister passed away at the age of 71 in Fallon, NV.

Marlene was born on March 19, 1949 in Fallon, NV to Marvin Ira Clark and Mary Ellen Wisnefski Clark. Marlene attended school in both Gabbs and Fallon and was a proud member of CCHS Class of 1967. She married William Edward Holmes on April 21, 1967.  Marlene and Bill lived in Fallon, Gabbs, Portland, Oregon, Cairo Egypt as well as Jakarta Indonesia.  They loved the traveling and adventures they enjoyed overseas.  When they returned from ten plus years overseas they built their retirement dream, Silver Sage Horse Boarding.  It was hard work but they loved the horses, the people and creating their home.  Marlene was very talented and loved painting and all kinds of crafts.  She also loving decorating her home and yard for all of the different holidays. When Bill passed away in 2014 Marlene took on the task of keeping the business going until her health failed and she moved to town. She still kept up her yard decorating in town until she passed.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her sons, Donald and Shari Holmes, Reno; Ronald and Monica Holmes Otis, Oregon. Grandchildren William and Cindi Holmes, Ore; Tyler Holmes, Georgia; Ashley Holmes, Ore; Joshua Holmes, Ore; Dylan Holmes, Fallon. Great grandchildren Kinsley, Eli, Athena, Skylyn, Conner and Cammie due in July.  Brother, Tom and Janis Clark; sister, Janet and Chuck Sanches both of Fallon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene was a giving and loving lady that will be missed greatly by her family and friends.  Her ashes will be spread by her sons and family at a private service.
