Single Vehicle Accident on St. Clair Kills Driver

Statement provided by Anne McMillin, PIO Churchill County Fernley man declared dead on scene On March 29 at approximately 4 p.m., members of the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and the Fallon/Churchill County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on St. Clair Road just west of Lima Lane in Churchill County. Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Truck, was traveling west on St. Clair when it went off the south side of the road striking a wooden fence. The driver, John William Lanning, a Fernley resident, age 43, was pronounced deceased on scene.
