Mamie Jean Buhlig, age 94, was called home to the Lord on October 4, 2026. She was born on February 27, 1932, to James L. and Flora Mae Garrison in Mayhill, New Mexico.
Mamie graduated from Churchill County High School in 1950 and then married the love of her life, Glen Buhlig, on February 27, 1955. She had a long and illustrious career in banking with First National Bank, which later became First Interstate Bank in Fallon. Mamie enjoyed being involved in community associations such as Soroptimist and Harmon Social Club. She and Glen were heavily involved in the Antique Car Club, and that forged many of their close friendships. Mamie also loved bowling, starting at an early age and continuing until right up to her being admitted for care. She bowled in the seniors league as well as in the ladies’ league, and in her younger years, she was often recognized for bowling high-point games and was team treasurer. Mamie and Glen shared the love of music and dancing, and she would never pass up a chance to dance! She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and once she retired, she loved to care for them while their parents were at work, and they loved their time with her, being spoiled with popcorn and ice cream with chocolate sauce.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Glen; her parents, James and Flora; her brothers, Richard and JL Garrison; and her sisters, Bea Stanhope, Reba Doyle, Juanita Hadley, and Kay Luce. She is survived by her brother, Allan Garrison; daughters, Debbie Bullock and Toni West-Guillen; grandchildren, Rebecca Nuttall, Lacie McAfee, Cody Bullock (Wendy), Monty Bullock, Tyler Peel (Savannah), and Alec West-Guillen (Annemarie); 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial reception will be held on October 25 at 11 a.m., with a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Gardens Funeral Home at 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, Nevada.
