Obituary — Cornelius Healy

Obituary — Cornelius Healy

Cornelius Healy -- known to family and friends as Con -- passed away peacefully on March 1, 2020, surrounded by his loving wife Virginia, son Tim, daughter-in-law Erin, and grandson Timothy.

Con was a long-time counselor and teacher advocate in the Churchill County School District and parishioner at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. His son Tim graduated from Churchill County High School in 1997. Con came to Fallon after serving as a school counselor in Highland, IL and hospital chaplain at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., where he met “the love of his life,” Virginia, as he affectionately called her.

Prior to serving as a chaplain in St. Louis, Con was a counselor at Gonzaga Prep and at Gonzaga University’s School of Law in Spokane, Wash. He studied intercultural studies in Bihar, India and centered his work on stress, grief, marriage, and death counseling. He was an alum of Gonzaga University and San Francisco State University, grew up in Spokane, and was born in Butte, Mont. His son Tim also graduated from Gonzaga University and received his Army officer’s commission through the ROTC program.

All who knew Con felt grace in his presence. He was kind. Every person who spent time with him -- no matter their station in life -- knew the same generosity and warmth of spirit.

Con is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Margaret Healy and his brother, Fr. Tom Healy (SJ). He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Healy; his son, Tim Healy; his daughter-in-law, Erin Healy; and grandson, Timothy Healy; and his sister, Margie Healy. Condolences can be sent to Mrs. Virginia Healy and Family at 1201 Hartman Lane; Shiloh, IL 62221.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
