Bittersweet Reflections — a Tribute

Bittersweet Reflections — a Tribute
Pictured here are Erin and Izeke Pinkas at Howieloo Photography By Laura Howard— This image was taken in my studio with two wonderful people I've had the pleasure of working with. Again, I’ve met some wonderful people and as my business grows and progresses I’m sure to meet several more in this wonderful community we call Fallon. Something else is in this image that brings a bittersweet tugging on my heart, the beautiful props that were graciously provided by DeeDee Ferguson from her lovely shop Blessings in a Bucket that she has spent countless hours over several years to bring us all something so special to enjoy. The shopping experience along with her wonderful employees is something everyone should experience. Her attention to detail and the perfection in her choice of decor is phenomenal and so inspiring. And then there’s Peg Buckner. This talented lady has brought Fallon the beauty of art through the lense of a camera. For over 20 years she has delivered breathtaking family portraiture and set the standard for professional photographers, teaching others not to take this gift for granted and to never doubt your worth. Award after award — she has met them all. She sets no boundaries on herself and pushes through even the most difficult times always to come out shining like the diamond she is. Picture This! Studio & Gallery is not only a watermark on a canvas, but has also left a watermark on our Churchill County community. DeeDee, along with Peg have been long time matriarchs of our quiet little town. These two powerhouse women began years ago building on their dreams and years later have accomplished them. And now, as we see them choosing to step down from all their hard work so they may enjoy their family and friends as they start a new chapter, I just want to take a moment to say, “thank you!!” Thank you for all that you have done for us and all that you are. May God continue to bless you both in your new chapters of life. We are all so excited to see you enjoy the new memories you create as you rest from all your hard work. You both so deserve it. This is the sweet part of your journey. We will miss your well established businesses and the heart you brought with them. Both of you will continue to hold The candle for those of us who look up to such talented, hard working, passionate, dedicated business women of this community. Again — thank you for the example. Well done ladies. May we all work as hard and be as blessed.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
