Crystal Cleaners Stays Open

Crystal Cleaners Stays Open
By Rachel Dahl — Ryan and Cherilee Sorensen made the decision a week ago to buy Crystal Cleaners when they heard the local dry cleaners would be closing on December 31st, for good. Stan and Crystal Wickware have decided to retire, which would have left Fallonites, including Navy personnel, without a local dry cleaning option. We just heard it was for sale," said Cherilee, laughing, "and we like new adventures so here we are."  She said Ryan came home the other day and told her the cleaners was going to close for good. “That can’t happen,” was her response, to which Ryan said, “I know, we've got to buy it." So here they are, the new owners of a dry cleaning establishment, greatly needed by the Fallon community, right in the middle of switching utilities, bank accounts, and the end of the year – goodbye 2018 stay-at-home-mom, hello 2019 business owner. Sorensen says she is enjoying meeting the customers who have been very kind and have repeatedly thanked them for keeping open the business. Most of the employees have decided to stay on and are helping train Ryan and Cherilee in the art of running a dry cleaning business. “We’ve run several businesses, but this is new to us,” said Cherilee. “We are working on upgrading, painting, and decorating, but it is still business as usual.” The switch will be seamless, and business hours will remain the same—Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Customers who have been with Crystal Cleaners know Francie Lee as the talented seamstress. She plans to open her own tailoring shop around January 15th and will be located at 960 Auction Road, Suite E. Crystal will move her embroidery shop in with Francie. Cherilee is looking to bring on a seamstress who can do simple alterations, but says she will refer tailoring and embroidery customers to Francie and Crystal at their news shop. Customers can call Crystal Cleaners during business hours at 775-423-4343.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
