Max Weill has spent the 17 years since the fall of the Third Reich tracking down the whereabouts of Nazis who committed atrocities which resulted in his family’s deaths in the camps. Max is on his death bed as he recruits his nephew Aaron’s help in tracking down Otto Schramm, a doctor who had recruited Max to help him in the camps.
Aaron follows Schramm to Argentina, a haven for Nazi war criminals who were given sanctuary by Peron after the war. Aaron, a CIA desk analyst, must come to terms with who to trust, who not to trust, and just how far he’ll go to get justice for his relatives as he works within the confines of the law.
Karon writes a compelling and believable page turner.
Carol Lloyd is the Director of the Churchill County Library. She has been reading mostly non-fiction lately but this thriller really caught her attention.

Comment text: A little disappointed in the parade and fireworks. With it being America's 250th Birthday, there should have been some more history, as in pioneers walking behind wagons.....etc. And as for fireworks, should have been more spectacular, like seeing hearts, and smiling faces and an American flag all dine in fire works.
