Michael Wade Parrish, 68, of Fallon, Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2026. A lifelong resident of Fallon, Mike, lived a life defined by faith, service, integrity, adventure, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

Born on June 27, 1958, Mike grew up in Fallon, where he built a life deeply rooted in the people and community he loved most. His faith was the foundation of who he was, and those who knew him would tell you that he loved the Lord above all else. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and a servant whose impact will continue to be felt for generations.

He attended Los Angeles Baptist College (now The Master's University), where he met Paula, the love of his life and wife of 47 years. During his time there, he formed countless friendships that endured throughout his life. Mike could instantly turn a stranger into a friend. Gifted at forming and maintaining meaningful relationships wherever he went, Mike remained close to the many friends he made throughout his lifetime.

Mike dedicated 28 years of his career to Churchill County Telephone and Telegraph (now CC Communications), where he worked his way up to the position of supervisor. After his retirement, he became DJ Latigo Travis at KHWG, where he shared his love of music through Latigo Trails, bringing joy and entertainment to countless listeners and friends.

Mike's passion was most evident through his service to the Fallon/Churchill Fire Department. For more than 27 years, the department was truly the love of his life. He earned his ambulance attendant license and EMT certification, helped establish the Fallon/Churchill Fire Department Dive Team, and ultimately served as Fire Chief. Mike never missed a call if he could help it. Day or night, regardless of circumstances, he answered when his community needed him.

One of the defining moments of Mike's life occurred in 1987 when he suffered life-threatening injuries after falling from a fire engine. Many would have stepped away after such an ordeal, but through faith and determination, Mike recovered and returned to the department he loved, serving with the same passion and commitment. Every year, he proudly drove "Old Betsy" in local parades, continuing traditions that brought him joy.

Mike was also incredibly passionate about serving and connecting with people. As HAM radio operator KG7DAR, Mike spent countless hours building friendships and sharing conversations across the globe. Mike was also deeply involved in the life of his church, Parkside Bible Fellowship, where he faithfully served in many capacities over the years.

Mike was known for his honesty and integrity. He loved his family and never hesitated to drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. He was encouraging, larger-than-life, quick with a joke, and always able to bring laughter to a room. His humor was legendary, and his presence made every gathering brighter.

An adventurer at heart, Mike was never afraid to try something new. His family fondly recalls stories that perfectly captured his fearless spirit: rolling a Jeep, jumping a ditch on his motorcycle, being shocked while rescuing a cat, and even taking on the challenge of de-scenting a skunk during his youth. These stories became family legends, reflecting a life lived boldly and fully.

Above all else, Mike treasured his wife, Paula. The two shared a partnership that was rooted in faith, friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They were truly best friends, choosing to spend life's moments, big and small, together. Anyone who knew Mike knew how deeply he loved Paula and how fiercely he cared for her. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure, service, and faith, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Parrish; his daughters, Natalie "Natalini" Erquiaga (Robert), Nicole "Toe" Dooley (Andy "Bucket"), and Megan "Megs" Dolan (Brad); and his treasured grandchildren, Journey Martin, Adeline "Adelina" Erquiaga, Declan "Decman" Dooley, Drew "Drew Boo" Dooley, Charissa "Sissy" Chenoweth, and Reygan "Oreygano" Chenoweth.

He is also survived by his siblings, Jim Parrish (Diane), Nancy Ward (Ron), and Kathleen "Katie" Bassham (Ric). He is also lovingly remembered by a large extended family and many cherished friends who became family through the years.

Those who knew Mike will remember a man who lived by faith, loved deeply, served selflessly, and never lost his sense of humor. While his family grieves his loss, they rejoice in knowing that Mike is now home with the Lord he loved so dearly.

Services will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the City/County Gym, located at 321 Venturacci Ln, Fallon, with a reception to follow at the Twisted Branch, located at 111 South Taylor Street, Fallon.
