Lahontan State Recreation Area

Lahontan State Recreation Area
by Hayden P. Diegel There are many recreational activities in our area. Recently, my family and I visited Lahontan State Recreational Area and we had a great time. We enjoyed many activities during our stay. We camped at Lahontan for five days. The lake is a nice place to relax and spend time with family. What I loved the most was how beautiful the stars were every night. We enjoyed fishing and we caught several different types of fish, including white bass. At Lahontan, the fishing is catch-and-release, but we didn’t mind because it was still fun. Another activity that my family and a lot of other families were enjoying at Lahontan is stand up paddle boarding. Paddle sports seem to be very popular at the lake, because we saw many people not only paddle boarding, but also canoeing and kayaking. Kids love swimming in the warm water and digging and building sandcastles in the soft sand. I loved making a Monster Truck City in the sand for my toy trucks to swim in. I dug a hole and filled it with water so that my trucks could swim, but not get lost in the lake. The weekend we visited, the weather was very hot, but that's okay because we cooled off by jumping into the lake. It cooled off nicely at night, and that was perfect for making s’mores. We had such a great time at Lahontan State Recreation Area, and I hope to go back soon. Who knows? Maybe we will even see you out there enjoying all of the recreational activities that Lahontan has in store.       Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
