Thank you to everyone who filled downtown with holiday spirit during last week’s traditional Maine Street Christmas Tree Lighting. Seeing families bundled up together, hearing carols drift through the cold evening air, and watching the lights sparkle to life reminded us once again how lucky we are to be part of a community that shows up, supports one another, and keeps these traditions alive year after year. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and support mean everything to the Fallon Theatre, and we are so grateful to celebrate this magical season with you.

At 6pm on Friday and Saturday, the Churchill Community Coalition is proudly sponsoring Home Alone (1990). This popular holiday film tells the story of Kevin McCallister, an ingenious boy left home alone at Christmas, who inventively sets up amusing traps and schemes to stop two persistent burglars. Featuring both comedic and adventurous elements, this production is well-suited for family viewing.  During your visit, do not miss our lobby—it is beautifully adorned with festive holiday decorations inspired by Home Alone Rated PG, this film runs 1 hour and 43 minutes.

Then at 7pm both nights, settle in for A Christmas Story (1983). This nostalgic comedy brings to life the adventures of young Ralphie Parker as he spends a memorable 1940s Christmas season chasing his dream gift while navigating school, family, and holiday chaos. Full of classic moments and warm holiday charm, it remains a seasonal favorite for audiences of all ages. Rated PG, it runs 1 hour and 34 minutes.

Next weekend, one of our favorite holiday traditions returns with The Polar Express! Join us on Friday, December 19th and Saturday, December 20th for free showings at both 6pm and 7pm, and enjoy a complimentary hot cocoa bar for all attendees. It is our way of spreading a little extra holiday cheer while you sit back and experience the magic, wonder, and timeless spirit of this beloved Christmas classic. Bring the whole family, sip some cocoa, and believe in the magic of the season!

Please note, the Fallon Theatre will be closed on Friday, December 26th so our volunteers can enjoy a little rest and quality time with their families after the busy holiday season. We appreciate all they do to keep the theatre running and cannot wait to welcome everyone back that weekend!

As we wrap up the holiday season and head toward the new year, we are ending 2025 with two fun classics. At 6pm, enjoy Elvis Presley in Follow That Dream (1962), a lighthearted comedy about a carefree family who starts fresh in a small Florida town, only to find themselves in the middle of unexpected legal and romantic tangles. Then at 7pm, we will have John Wayne’s timeless western 3 Godfathers (1948), the heartfelt tale of three outlaws who find redemption when they vow to protect a stranded newborn in the desert. These year-end screenings are a warm, nostalgic way to close out 2025 with family, friends, and a little classic movie magic.

Looking further ahead into next year, we are preparing for a very special celebration of our region’s roots. On Saturday, March 7th, 2026, the Fallon Theatre will host Heritage of the West, a free event honoring the songs, stories, and traditions that built the heart of our communities. We are inviting performers, historians, poets, and storytellers to share the sounds and stories of the past - heritage music, cowboy poetry, dance, and oral histories that keep our western spirit alive. If you’d like to take part in this meaningful tribute to the region’s history and culture, please reach out to [email protected] or call 775-423-2055 or 775-217-4142.

Most standard movie showings at the Fallon Theatre remain free of charge, and you can enjoy popcorn, candy, and other favorite snacks from our concession stand. Want to rent the theatre for a private event or light up the marquee with a special message? Call us at 775-423-6210 or email [email protected].

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family.
