Three Former CCHS Students Complete Work-Based Learning Health Program
Left to Right, Addison Sandberg, Makayla Matheson, and Katelen Helton.

Three former Churchill County High School students — Addison Sandberg, Makayla Matheson, and Katelen Helton — graduated in May 2025 after completing a Work-Based Learning program funded through Nevada Works, with support from the Governor’s Office. The program was coordinated at the high school by Dr. Sue Segura.

The goal of the program is to prepare students for careers as medical assistants and help address the growing demand for health care professionals in northern Nevada.

Sandberg, Matheson, and Helton earned certificates in phlebotomy, EKG technology, and medical assisting. According to program data, 100% of students who completed the program secured job placements in the health care field.

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family. May you be comforted to know that I care and I pray you will be comforted by your memories of Frank. Sincerely,Comment publication date: 4/30/26, 11:51 AMComment source: Frank Robert Kroll
