Obituary - Flemming Mærsk Pedersen

Flemming Mærsk Pedersen

Flemming Mærsk Pedersen, 68, of Santa Rosa, Calif., a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 28, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, while looking forward to exploring the Last Frontier.

Born in Denmark in 1956 to a family in machinery, Flemming carved his own path, becoming an expert in furniture and home goods as well as an amateur baker. He brought his heritage of hygge to America, where he lived a life of purpose and connection.

A master salesman, Flemming blended charm and expertise, earning respect and trust while improving any endeavor he set his hands and mind to. Yet his true joy was serving others from the kitchen, creating Danish specialties such as flæskesteg (pork roast) and wienerbrød (Danish pastries), delighting friends and strangers alike with his skill. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, he lived his faith through hospitality and generosity, touching many lives with his warm spirit and humor.

Flemming’s greatest treasure was his family: his wife, Mary; children, Nicolai and Johnny; five cherished granddaughters; and two treasured grandsons. His love for them was abounding, and he took pride in seeing them grow. He is also survived by a brother, Henrik, and a sister, Birget.

A memorial service celebrating Flemming’s life will be held at Hessel Church in Sebastopol, Calif., on March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cadets Scholarship Fund, a ministry of Bethany CRC in Bellflower, Calif., and/or PURSU Ministries, causes he supported. Flemming’s legacy of faith, family, and sweet traditions will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
