Obituary - Walter “Walt” Skeffington “Skip” Dorman

December 10, 1947 - January 28, 2025

Walter “Walt” Skeffington “Skip” Dorman, 77, passed away Jan. 28, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gayle Dorman, who passed away Feb. 2, 2022.

Walter was born Dec. 10, 1947, in Sacramento, where he spent his formative years. He attended Brooks Institute of Fine Arts for photography and later became a graphic designer at the Sacramento Army Depot. After the closure of the Sacramento Army Depot, Walter moved to Reno, where he continued his work as a graphic designer at the Sierra Army Depot in Herlong. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication and passion for helping others.

More than anything, Walter was a devoted father and spouse. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren—cooking, sharing stories, playing games and watching their favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, Walter enjoyed cooking, golfing, bowling and cycling and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for the Kiwanis bicycle program.

Walter is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, as well as his two granddaughters and three grandsons. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held for family and friends at 1 p.m. Feb. 28, 2025, at the Fernley Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
