Christmas Tree Sales to Benefit Local Youth Groups

Christmas Tree Sales to Benefit Local Youth Groups

There’s a new Christmas tree lot in town, filling a void left when the Churchill County High School Track & Field team discontinued the tradition of its tree lot in the Louie’s Home Center parking lot. This year, the D50 Custom Designs Tree Lot will open for Christmas tree sales on November 22, in the lot behind Fallon Physical Therapy at 2170 Reno Highway.

Rusty Diaz, co-owner of D50 Custom Designs, said, “We have chosen to continue with the tree lot tradition and are opening it up to all local youth activities to volunteer to work at the lot.”

The idea is that when a youth group volunteers to work the lot, they will earn a percentage of the tree sales for the time they work. Diaz explained there are two reasons they decided to operate the tree lot: first, the proceeds from the sale of trees will help fund local youth programs and other youth-related activities in our communities, and second, groups that volunteer get the added visibility that operating a tree lot will give to the various youth programs throughout the community.

“We are extremely grateful to Fallon Physical Therapy for offering the use of their parking lot for our Christmas tree sales this year,” Diaz said. She also said at press time that Matt Louie has reached out and offered the use Louie’s Ace Hardware’s parking lot.

Trees available at the lot include fresh-cut Douglas and Noble Firs and wreaths and garlands.

Volunteers can sign up for specific times at signupgenius.com, where they can search for 024 D50 Tree Lot Volunteers. The volunteer signup schedule at that link has the available days and times. Diaz said that if too many volunteers show up, volunteers who signed up will be given preference. On weekends, she expects to “use a ton of help.”

Rusty, Dan Diaz, Corey Rasmussen, and Destry Johnson will act as lot managers. One, or all during peak times, will always be on the lot. Questions relating to the operation of the lot should be directed to them. Before the start of every shift, lot volunteers will huddle with the lot manager for work assignments and informational updates.

“We’ve worked hard to build a successful community tradition, and we want to continue to make a positive impression on those who choose to purchase their tree from us,” Diaz said. “Our goal is to have each customer leave our lot with a good feeling having purchased a quality tree while supporting the activities for young people.”

The tree lot will be open weekdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Trees can also be delivered within ten miles of the lot, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays and between noon and 9 p.m. on the weekend. There is a $22 charge for deliveries, and orders placed after 8 p.m. will be delivered the following day.

It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking. I am Kelly’s sister, Charlene B Johnson and his daughter is Trisha Benjamin. The Fallon Tribal Police acted unconscionably by not notifying the family first. This is devastating for us especially after speaking a little bit with the officer handling the report and The Chief Juarez. Who refused to give me any further details or to at least let me know the FBI was notified and that they were investigating if my brothers death was foul play or not. My understanding is the FBI is called when a body is found. Tribal Chairwoman please do the family a solid and make sure the finding of my brother was due to suspicious circumstances.Comment publication date: 3/24/26, 1:55 PMComment source: Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe Reports Death Under InvestigationComment author: Nicole GalbraithComment text: Farren - I just saw that you aren’t here with us. I am completely in shock! I met you and hung out with you so many years ago with Jer, and Eden. I honestly can’t believe you are gone…..you were a wonderful human being, with a HUGE heart and soul. Hearing this makes my heart break! You are forever in our hearts, and I can say I feel blessed that I was able to know you!
