Obituary - Ricky Martin Banovich, Sr.

Obituary - Ricky Martin Banovich, Sr.

Ricky Martin Banovich, Sr. was born on Friday, September 13, 1946, in Tonopah, Nevada. He passed from this life on September 11, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, near and far.

Ricky was born to David and Mildred Banovich, the third of four sons. He grew up and went to school in Tonopah, Nevada. He loved to play basketball, football, and boxing.

Ricky followed in the footsteps of his father, several uncles, and a brother going into law enforcement at age 21. He served on Fallon PD, Churchill County Sheriff's Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol. He was extremely proud to wear the "French Blue", graduating #1 in his POST training.

Ricky enjoyed working on cars, riding his Harley, and visiting his friends. He loved to watch drag and racing circle track racing.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Tanya; his three sons, TR, Ricky, and Michael, and their families; his brother, Raymond; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Dave and Randy. Per his wishes, there will be no services.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Banner Hospital for their fantastic care of Ricky in his final days. Words can not
convey how very much we appreciate everything that was done for him.

Deepest thanks to Dr. Hockenberry and Dr. Thai for their care and compassion. To all the nurses, CNAs, therapists, and anyone I may have
missed: Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Eternal gratitude to Smith Family Funeral Home for taking care of
Ricky's final wishes.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
