Movies & More August 23 & 24

Movies & More August 23 & 24

A huge thank you to everyone who dropped by the theatre last weekend for the 10th Annual Community Reunion. The free Friday night concert, the Saturday morning theatre tours, and the afternoon karaoke were great successes. All the volunteers enjoyed seeing their friends and family enjoying themselves at the theatre they had worked so hard to curate.

This weekend, there are two great films to consider. First, at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 23, and Saturday, August 24, is the 20222 animated adventure “The Bad Guys.” The story follows a gang of notorious animal criminals pretending to change their ways to avoid prison. It is rated PG with a runtime of 1 hour and 40 minutes.

On Friday, August 23, and Saturday, August 24, the Final Cut version of the iconic 1982 Ridley Scott dystopian cyberpunk thriller Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford, will be shown at 7 p.m. This version, released in 2007, has remastered audio and visual and a few additional scenes. It is rated R and has a runtime of 1 hour and 57 minutes.

Coming up quickly on August 24 is the annual summer 5K fundraiser, The Cantaloupe Canter. Early registration is $25 per person, while same-day registration will begin at 7 a.m. for a fee of $30. The race begins at 8 a.m. at the Indoor Pool, 333 Sheckler Rd. See you there.

Be sure to save the 2024 Show ‘N’ Shine date on September 28, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information on this event and the upcoming movies through October, please visit the theatre’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/fallontheatre or the website www.fallontheatre.com.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
