Obituary - Janice “Jan” Wilma Clasen

Janice “Jan” Wilma Clasen passed away at her home in Fallon on April 20, 2024. Jan was born in Seward, Alaska on June 16, 1951. Jan’s passion was supporting and helping American Veterans. She was highly active in the American Legion Auxiliary. She held many offices in the local community, District, and State levels of Colorado, including the President of the American Legion Auxiliary of the State of Colorado 2004-2005. After moving to Fallon, she became active in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 16.

Jan was the accountant for Systems Consultants for 12 years, retiring in October 2022.

Jan’s education included Alameda College and University Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in accounting. She was a Distinguished Member of the International Society of Poets.

A Celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post, 16 on Ada Street in Fallon. Inurnment will be Monday, May 20, 2024, at noon at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.

Jan is survived by her husband of 16 years, Kenneth Clasen Jr., of Fallon; daughters Carolyn Gold of California and Lynn Ickes of Colorado; and granddaughters Domanique Chiro of Texas and Megan Ickes of Colorado.
