Today, the University of Nevada Men’s Lacrosse team announced their player commitments for the 2020 season, and two Bighorns were on the list.  Oasis Attackmen Josh Carter and Trey Rooks will be playing for UNR next season.
Both players are among the original set of players who founded lacrosse in Fallon in 2013, and both were key players on the Bighorns 2015 championship team.  Rooks has led the Bighorns in goals for the past two seasons, while Carter led the team in points.
Offensive production for the Bighorns took off during the 2018 season when Carter switched from Midfield to Attack, providing a one two punch in the offensive zone. Koda Biggs and Nate Keener typically filled the third spot, and each increased his offensive production this season as well.
The graduation of Carter and Rooks leaves a big hole to fill in the Bighorns offense for the 2020 season, but they should both help push the Wolf Pack towards a postseason berth and beyond.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
