Sheryl Evans

It is with great sadness that on Monday, October 16, 2023, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Sheryl Lee Evans died in an automobile accident at the age of 73.  Sheryl was born April 27, 1950, to Noble and Mae Evans. Sheryl is survived by her children Brett Munoz, Noble Braddock Evans, and Randall (Lisa) Baumbach; her grandchildren Jordan Munoz, Kaitlyn Evans, Madison Evans, and Maya Baumbach.

Sheryl is also survived by her sisters Gayle Martin and Karen Gray-Jacoby. Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents Noble and Mae Evans, and siblings David Evans, Dianne Transtrum, Brent Evans, Ivan Evans, Dennis Evans, Larry Evans, and Mary Katherine Evans.

Sheryl also spent many years as a foster parent and was a foster parent to many children.  So, there are many who call her mom or grandma even though they were unofficially adopted. Sheryl was a very giving, caring, and loving person and has always opened her home to family and friends in need.  She was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back. She loved helping others.

Sheryl loved her family and loved to spend time with them.  She loved to travel and go with or take family members on trips. Sheryl loved to visit, laugh, was fun to be with, and always had a positive attitude. She was very creative, artistic, and loved music. She loved to cook, draw, paint, sing, sew, learn, and spend time in her garden.  She was also an avid rockhound and explorer.  She loved Nevada and she loved nature and enjoyed going out in the hills, desert or wherever and looking at the beauty and wonder of the earth, nature, rocks, plants, and animals.  She loved history and was very inquisitive.  If she didn’t know the answer to something she loved to read and research about it.  She was a beautiful and spiritual lady and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Sheryl was a lifelong resident of Fallon, Nevada.  She worked as a bookkeeper, was the original owner and operator of The Depot before it was sold and moved again, owned her own furniture business, and eventually retired from the State of Nevada, Division of Health, Community Health Services in Fallon.

The Celebration of Life/Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. at the Taylor Street Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 450 North Taylor Street, Fallon, Nevada, with the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Churchill County Cemetery.  A meal will follow the services at approximately 3:00 p.m. back at the Taylor Street Chapel.  Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 775-423-8928.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
