Obituary - Faye Davis Morgan

August 19, 1937 – February 8, 2023
Obituary - Faye Davis Morgan
Faye Davis Morgan

Faye Davis Morgan passed away on February 8, 2023, she was eighty-five years old.

Faye was born in Marlow, Oklahoma in 1937 to Stanley and Aline Davis. Although only in Oklahoma during her young childhood she never lost her “Okie” accent, her love for sweet tea, and calling everyone “Sugar”.

Her family eventually moved to Mirana, Arizona in her teens where her father worked in the cotton gins.  It was here that she met the love of her life, Ernie Morgan. Shortly after she turned 18, on November 4th, 1955, they were married. They were married for 67 years.

Several years after the birth of their son David, they moved from Arizona to Alaska where Ernie took a job with the Federal Aviation Administration. Too cold and too remote, they moved to Las Vegas in 1962 where their second son, Jim, was born soon after. In 1967 they made the move to Fallon, their lifetime home. However, after Ernie retired, they spent the winters in Tucson, Arizona.

It was in Las Vegas that Faye discovered her love for bowling. It truly was her passion. Faye attended many National Bowling Tournaments over the years, her last being in 2012. Bowling gave her the opportunity to meet new friends, establish lifetime friendships, and travel to many parts of the country. Bring up bowling and you were in for a conversation. She loved it.

Faye put her family first, and with her smile and infectious laugh made many special times for her family. Many memories were made around the dinner table as family and friends ate fried chicken, mashed potatoes, okra, and a variety of wonderful pies. Another part of her Oklahoma roots.

She was a game player with both friends and family. The grandkids played many games of Sorry, everyone joined in with Yahtzee, and she and Ernie played card games with many friends over the years. Her Christmas stocking always contained Yahtzee scoresheets.  And they would definitely get used.

Faye worked for a time at Quik Stop and later, Stop and Shop convenience stores in Fallon. They were perfect jobs for her because she was a hard worker and loved to visit with people. She was also great at math. It was uncanny how she could remember numbers. She knew everyone’s phone number. You didn’t need a phone book. Just ask mom.

Faye is preceded in death by her mother and father, and brother, Paul Davis. She is survived by her husband Ernie, son David (Laurie), son Jim (Marion), and two grandchildren Pearson Morgan and Mallory Morgan, her nieces Monyca Jensen (Camdon), Julie Davis (Donny), and nephew Zach Davis.

A service will be held on  Saturday, February 25, at New Beginnings Church at 10:00 am. A reception will follow.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
